Classic Material

Classic Material is a show about the releases that changed Australian hip-hop. In season two, we explore the story behind Bliss n Eso’s 2006 breakout album Day of the Dog, their first album with long-time record label Illusive Sounds. Host and former editor-in-chief of Complex Australia Steve Duck interviews Bliss (Jonathan Notley) and Eso (Max Mackinnon) alongside producer Weapon X as well as former manager Adam Jankie, label boss Matt Gudinski and others connected to the album’s production, taking you from day jobs and slinging mix CDs in tiny venues to nationwide success and the start of a multi-decade career.
